4 Days Best of Kenya Walking Safari
OVERVIEW

This walking safari takes you through Lake Bogoria where you can see flamingos and hot spring. We also visit Lake Naivasha, a Crescent Island on the Eastern shore of Lake Naivasha. There is a lot of easy to see game e.g. giraffes, wildebeests, waterbucks, elands, zebras and impalas. It is also a haven for birds with +200 species recorded. Finally, we visit Hell’s Gate, which is located just beyond Lake Naivasha and famous for its natural hot geysers, eagle and vulture breeding grounds.

ITINERARY
Day 1  Nairobi- South of Lake Bogoria via Walking

In the morning, we drive to Bogoria as you enjoy the scenic views of the Great Rift valley. We arrive Lake Bogoria country club in time for lunch  then we drive south to lake Bogoria game reserve. We get dropped at the park gate and with a game ranger, we start our walk for 3-4 hours towards South of lake Bogoria at the hot springs. From there, our safari vehicle will pick us up and return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Meals: L,D

Day 2  Walking at Lake Bogoria for Flamingos and Hot Spring

We depart with packed lunches and visit the Flamingos and the hot springs. The springs shoot higher at 15 -18ft in the morning. CAUTION MUST BE TAKEN WHILE WALKING NEAR THE HOT SPRINGS AS THESE ARE SUPER HOT. 

Afterwards, we proceed south to the end while we turn to east side of the lake. We spent the whole day walking in open savannah with scattered bushes and we have the chance to see the greater kudu, Thompson’s and Grant’s gazelles as well as zebras, monkeys and baboons. 

Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Bogoria Hotel. Full board meals. 

Day 3  Lake Bogoria to Lake Naivasha

Early morning departure to Lake Naivasha. Afternoon game viewing walk at the privately owned Crescent Island, which is a peninsula on the Eastern shore of Lake Naivasha. There is a lot of easy to see game e.g. giraffes, wildebeests, waterbucks, elands, zebras and impalas. It is also a heaven for birds with +200 species recorded. 

Dinner and overnight stay at Sawela lodge. Full board meals.

Day 4  Hells Gate to Nairobi

Early breakfast, then visit the adjacent Hells gate national park with packed lunches. This park can be explored on foot or by cycling- bicycles are available for hire at an extra cost. Hell’s Gate is located just beyond Lake Naivasha. Famous for its natural hot geysers, eagle and vulture breeding grounds, visitors have the choice of driving, walking, camping, and cycling and rock climbing within the park. Special location to view include Fischer’s Tower, formerly a volcano’s plug, the Central Tower and Njorowa Gorges. Two extinct volcanos: Olkaira and Hobley’s are worth a trip. 

Depart Hells gate at 1500 hrs and drive to Nairobi to arrive by 1700hrs. Drop off at your residence where the safari ends.
