The Experience
Salt Lick Safari Lodge is a lodge in the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, a 28,000-acre private reserve near Tsavo in southern Kenya. Its 96 rooms are raised on stilts over two levels, many facing the waterhole below. An underground tunnel and bunker with ground-level windows lets guests watch animals drinking at close range, which is most rewarding in the dry season. The Bura restaurant and Vuria bar overlook the water, and guests can use the pool and spa at the sister Taita Hills Safari Resort. Children under five are not accepted.
