Tell us your dates, interests and budget in the safari planner or by message. A specialist sends you a tailor-made itinerary within 24 hours, free and with no obligation. Once you are happy with it, a deposit secures your dates and our team confirms every detail with you.

Yes. Every itinerary is built around you: the parks, the pace, the lodges and the budget. Our tours are a starting point, and your specialist can change anything in them.

Our safaris are planned privately, so your vehicle and guide are for your group. On Kilimanjaro you can also join one of our group departures and climb with other travellers.

For the peak season, July to October, book as early as you can: the best camps and flights fill first. Outside the peak there is more flexibility, but check visa requirements well in advance either way.

Most visitors do. Depending on your nationality you can apply for an e-visa online before you travel or get a visa on arrival. Your passport should be valid for at least six months from your departure date. See our Tanzania visa guide.

If you arrive from, or transit through, a country with yellow fever risk, Tanzania asks for a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate. Speak to your doctor about malaria prevention and other vaccines six to eight weeks before you travel. Our health and entry guide has the details.

Yes, it is essential. Make sure your policy covers medical evacuation, hospitalization and repatriation, which can be very expensive in remote safari areas.

Days start early, often before dawn, with a morning game drive while wildlife is most active. You return to camp for brunch and rest through the midday heat, then head out again around 3 to 4pm and stay out for sunset, when predators become active.

We run our own fleet of over 50 custom Land Cruisers with pop-up roofs for photography, driven by our in-house guides. See our vehicles.

Neutral-coloured clothing, warm layers for cold mornings and evenings, comfortable closed shoes, sun protection, insect repellent, binoculars and a camera with a good zoom. The full safari packing list covers the rest.

Follow your guide's instructions around wildlife, never leave the vehicle without permission and keep a respectful distance from animals. We brief you on arrival and our team is available 24/7 until your flight home.

Yes. Family safaris are one of our safari styles, and your specialist will pace the days and choose lodges that suit your family.

The dry season, June to October, is the classic time for game viewing as animals gather at water. Great Migration river crossings happen between July and October. The green season, November to May, brings fewer visitors, lower prices and wonderful birdlife, with calving in the Serengeti around January and February. Explore travel by month.

As a rough guide per person per day: budget safaris $150 to $250, mid-range $300 to $600, luxury $700 to $1,500, and ultra-luxury from $1,500. Prices usually include accommodation, meals, game drives and park fees; international flights and insurance are extra. Your specialist will quote your exact trip.

Yes. We run fixed group departures you can join, or we can arrange a private climb on your own dates.

Layers for every climate from rainforest to arctic summit, broken-in boots and a warm sleeping bag are the essentials. See the Kilimanjaro packing list.
