Tangala Safari Camp is a small, off-grid camp in the Thornybush Game Reserve in the Greater Kruger, about 30 km from Hoedspruit. Established in 1940 and renovated in 2016, it has six colonial-style safari tents and a few thatched bush chalets, each with an en-suite bathroom, mosquito-netted beds and a covered patio. There is no mains power: the camp runs on solar and gas, with lanterns at night. A waterhole sits in view of the main deck and pool, and rates include meals and two guided game drives a day.
