Day by Day
3-day Uganda gorilla safari itinerary
You will be met by our representative at Kanombe International Airport in Kigali and transferred by road to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Settle in and take in the change of scenery as you travel from Rwanda into the forested hills of south-western Uganda, where you will spend the next two nights at Lake Mulehe Gorilla Lodge.
Once you reach the lodge, you have the option of a Batwa pygmy walk or a community or nature walk. Either is an easy way to stretch your legs after the drive and to learn something of the people and the landscape around Bwindi before your early start the following morning. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included today, and drinking water is provided throughout. An early night is worthwhile, as tomorrow begins with breakfast and a briefing at the park headquarters at 8:00 am ahead of gorilla tracking.

Tracking is a captivating and unforgettable experience which more than repays the effort needed to reach Bwindi. Gorilla tracking starts at 8:30 AM and can last a few hours to a whole day depending on where the gorillas were left the previous day.
Rest of the day at leisure.
After breakfast at Lake Mulehe Gorilla Lodge, you check out and begin the drive back to Kigali. Your driver-guide stays with you throughout, and the route takes you out of the Bwindi forest and across the border into Rwanda, with the landscape shifting from steep, forested hills to the terraced countryside around the capital.
You reach Kigali in good time for your onward flight, so the day is unhurried. Depending on your departure time, there may be a chance to stop for a meal or a short look around the city before you reach the airport. This brings your three-day gorilla adventure to a close, leaving you with the memory of having stood among the mountain gorillas of Bwindi the day before.
