A temporary court was laid in sections on open savannah in the Serengeti, with spectator seating and shade around it, and taken out again afterwards with as little trace as possible.

Away from the court, guides took guests out across the plains and down to the crater floor, with a guide at the wheel of every vehicle to spot the animals and explain what everyone was looking at.

On a visit to a nearby community, women from the village greeted the group in blue shawls and beadwork, and a net strung across the hillside turned into a match for anyone who wanted to play.
