About Khwai Concession
The Khwai Concession is a community-run wilderness wedged between Moremi Game Reserve and Chobe, along the lagoon-strung Khwai River. Wildlife ignores the unfenced boundaries: elephant herds, wild dogs, leopard and lion move freely through its woodlands and floodplains. Because it is community land, Khwai allows night drives and mokoro excursions that the national parks cannot, with tourism income flowing to the village that owns it. It is many guides' favourite corner of Botswana.
