7-day Kruger and Zululand safari itinerary
Our professional driver will pick you up from Johannesburg on the morning of your departure and drive you to Hazyview. All transfers are done in a luxury air conditioned vehicle, where you will be transported via the Panorama Route.
The Panorama route includes God’s Window, Lisbon Falls, and Graskop and all entrance fees are included in the package. There are numerous stops along the way for comfort breaks and photo moments.
Upon arrival in Hazyview, guests will check into Hippo Hollow Country Estate (or similar if not available), which is situated near the Phabeni Gate. The lodge is a 3-star establishment, rooms are air-conditioned and ensuite. All rooms have a view either over gardens or the Sabi River. The estate has two swimming pools and a restaurant where all the breakfasts and dinners are included. On particular evenings in the hotel, guests are treated to a Shangaan supper and entertainment. A hotel upgrade is available at a surcharge.
On your first evening, you will either partake in an afternoon game drive or an evening game drive. This is dependent on availability and will be communicated to the guest on route to Hazyview.
Our guide will pick you up in the early morning and will spend the full day with you in the Kruger Park, where hopefully you will be able to view the Big Five. We will stop during the day for a number of comfort breaks and a chance to enjoy lunch. Lunch is at your own cost.
Our guides are highly trained professionals equipped with knowledge on virtually every living species in the park and will provide you with an insightful, unforgettable and enjoyable experience. You will be in an open 4x4 game vehicle, so please bring a hat, sunscreen and appropriate clothing.
Our guide will pick you up in the early morning and will spend the full day with you in the Kruger Park, where hopefully you will be able to view the Big Five. We will stop during the day for a number of comfort breaks and a chance to enjoy lunch. Lunch is at your own cost.
Our guide will collect you mid-morning to depart to Zululand. The drive from Hazyview to Hluhluwe takes about 7 hours including comfort breaks. Upon arrival, you will be accommodated at Ubizane Wildlife Reserve or similar and enjoyed your evening at leisure.
On the fifth day, the tour includes a trip to St. Lucia Wetlands area. The morning is spent on a boat ride in the St Lucia wetlands, with an opportunity to spot Hippo and Crocodiles in their natural environment. The boat ride is subject to weather conditions. Lunch can either be enjoyed on the boat or en route to your next activity. We then head towards Dumazulu Village, experiencing the true culture of the Zulu people. Join in the singing and dancing and also take a tour of the village with great stories told about the rich history of the Zulu Tribe.
We will embark on a morning game drive in the Hluhluwe Game Reserve. This reserve is famous for the great numbers of both White and Black Rhino in the reserve. Return to the lodge for lunch a bit of relaxing and then in the afternoon head out on another game drive in the nearby Reserve.
After your final morning in Zululand, you will set off on the drive to Johannesburg, leaving the wetlands and the reserve behind as the route turns inland. The drive takes up the greater part of the day, so settle in and enjoy the changing scenery along the way.
If you would prefer to end your safari on the coast instead, you can be dropped off in Durban rather than continuing to Johannesburg. This option is subject to availability and carries an additional charge of US $230 per vehicle, for up to 4 passengers. Your morning begins with breakfast before departure, and with that the seven days of the Kruger National Park and Zululand Safari come to a close.
