The Experience
Fort Murchison is a lodge on the eastern bank of the Albert Nile, in the former Aswa Lolim game reserve just outside the northern boundary of Murchison Falls National Park. Run by Nature Lodges, it is built to look like an old river fort, with thick walls and a rooftop terrace that overlooks the Nile at sunset. There are two types of room: en-suite rooms with river-facing terraces, and explorer tents under thatch that use shared bathrooms. A swimming pool helps in the midday heat, and game drives and Nile boat trips into the park are booked separately.
