Day by Day
4-day Kruger safari itinerary
Our professional Driver/Guide will pick you up in Johannesburg in an air-conditioned vehicle and transfer you via the scenic Panorama Route to Kruger Park. En-route we will visit Pilgrim’s Rest, God’s Window and the Graskop Falls.
We will arrive at Hippo Hollow Lodge (or similar) in the afternoon where you will have time to check-in and freshen up before we depart on a game drive in the Kruger National Park. You will depart on either an afternoon game drive or a sunset game drive.
Then late afternoon offers the lower light game viewing with most animals heading down to the watering holes and offers excellent game viewing opportunities.
Your Professional Field guide will advise you of your pick-up time for this morning. You will be picked up from your lodge early in the morning on your full day game drive in an Open 4X4 Safari Vehicle. We will enter Kruger National Park and enjoy a full day game drive on this day. We will stop several times during the day for you to freshen up and to stretch your legs. Your Professional Field Guide will ensure that you see the wildlife Kruger Park is renowned for and give you interesting facts and information on all aspects of the African Bush and Wildlife. (With a bit of luck, you will be able to add the Big Five to your “spotting-list”)
We will enjoy breakfast at one of the Kruger Park Camps (packed by the lodge). We will also visit the Skukuza Main Camp of the Kruger Park. We will return in the afternoon to your Lodge where the rest of the evening will be at leisure.
Dinner can be enjoyed at the Lodge. (Depending on your dates of travel, dinner could be accompanied with traditional dancing)
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Elephant Whispers in Hazyview. Here you will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the biggest land animals in Africa.
Guests are guided in small groups on foot through the Sanctuary. Guides will provide in-depth information and insight into African elephants. You will be introduced to our elephants in the forest area, and here you will be able to touch and interact with the elephants. You will see the special relationship that the elephant handlers share with their elephants and become a part of it. Walk trunk-in-hand with the elephants. See the stables where the elephants sleep at night. Guests learn about elephant anatomy and are able to feed them. Enjoy a drink and visit our curio shop. Remember to wear flat walking shoes, sun hats and bring your camera.
After your elephant experience, you will be transferred back to the lodge. we will do an afternoon game drive in an open game drive vehicle. (please note that the elephant interaction may take place in the afternoon due to availability)
We will once again collect you for an early morning game drive to try and find the elusive animals that you might have missed on your previous drives.
After your early morning game drive, we will return to the lodge. Once you have checked out your professional driver/guide will be waiting to transfer you back to Johannesburg in a luxury air-conditioned vehicle.
