4-day Kruger Panorama Safari itinerary
Our driver/guide will pick you up from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle and transfer you via the scenic Panorama Route. En-route we will visit Dullstroom, Belfast, Burke’s Luck Potholes, Lisbon Waterfalls, Gods Window, Graskop as well as Graskop Gorge.
In the afternoon, we will check into the Royal Hotel Pilgrim’s Rest. Fifty en-suite bedrooms are spread over a number of annexes to the main hotel and all of them radiate extreme character. Furnished with genuine antique brass beds, washstands, wardrobes, and other furniture, visitors cannot but be transported back into history. Rounding off this atmosphere are authentic Victorian baths, sanitary ware, and fixtures. In these surroundings, electric shavers, driers, and other equipment will seem out of place.
After a leisurely breakfast, we will continue on the scenic panorama drive and stop at some curio shops and or other tourist attractions along the road on your way to Hippo Hollow Lodge. We should arrive at the lodge around lunch time where we will check in and refresh.
You will depart on either an afternoon game drive or a sunset game drive (where you will get your first experience on an open 4X4 Safari vehicle.) The late afternoon offers the lower light game viewing with most animals heading down to the watering holes and offers excellent game viewing opportunities. (please note the sunset drive is subject to availability)
Your Professional field guide will advise you of your pick-up time for this morning. You will be picked up from your lodge early in the morning on your full day game drive in an open 4X4 safari vehicle.
We will enter Kruger Park at one of the mentioned Gates and enjoy a full day game drive on this day. We will stop several times during the day for you to freshen up and to stretch your legs. Your Professional Field Guide will ensure that you see the wildlife Kruger Park is renowned for and give you interesting facts and information on all aspects of the African Bush and Wildlife. (With a bit of luck, you will be able to add the Big Five to your “spotting-list”)
We will enjoy breakfast at one of the Kruger Park Camps.
We will return to your lodge in the late afternoon and the rest of the evening will be spent at leisure. Dinner can be enjoyed at the Lodge.
We will once again collect you for an early morning game drive to try and find the elusive animals that you might have missed on your previous drives.
After your Early Morning Drive, we will return to the lodge for breakfast. Once you have had breakfast, you’re Driver/Guide will be waiting to transfer you back to Johannesburg in a luxury air-conditioned vehicle.
