Miriakamba Hut

Mt. Meru

Miriakamba Hut is the first overnight stop on the Momella route up Mount Meru, set in montane forest inside Arusha National Park at about 2,514 metres. It is a park-run mountain hut rather than a lodge: climbers sleep in dormitory rooms with bunk beds and mattresses, and share a dining hall and outdoor seating. Most trekkers reach it after a walk of four to six hours from Momella Gate, often with wildlife and birdlife along the way. The next night is usually spent higher up at Saddle Hut, at around 3,570 metres, before the summit attempt.

Our philosophy

More than a place to sleep

We believe your accommodation should be a destination in itself. Every property in our collection has been personally vetted: we know the managers by name, we've walked the grounds, and we've watched the sunset from the best room.

From canvas-walled tented camps where you fall asleep to lion calls, to clifftop lodges with infinity pools overlooking the crater floor. Each stay is chosen to amplify the landscape it sits within.

Personally Vetted
Every property inspected by our team: no listing without a visit.
Location First
Positioned for wildlife viewing, sunrise vistas, and walking access.
Community Rooted
Properties that employ locally, source locally, and give back.

Why book with us

What sets us apart

See the safaris these stays belong to
No Commission Markups
We work with lodges directly. You pay the same rate, or better, than booking direct, with the added value of expert planning.
Flexibility Built In
Mix lodge nights with tented camp nights, add a night under the stars, or swap properties mid-trip. Your safari, your rhythm.
Emergency Rebooking
If a property can't host you due to weather, maintenance, or wildlife movement, we rebook instantly: no extra cost, no stress.
Insider Access
Private dining on kopjes, sunrise bush breakfasts, behind-the-scenes conservation visits: we unlock experiences the lodges don't advertise.

Good to know

Accommodation questions, answered

Something else on your mind? Ask a specialist. We reply within 24 hours.

Is accommodation included in the safari price?

Yes, every Gosheni itinerary is quoted with accommodation, park fees, game drives and most meals included. You'll see exactly which property you're staying at, night by night, before you confirm anything.

What's the difference between a lodge and a tented camp?

Lodges are permanent buildings (stone, timber, glass) with hotel-style comforts. Tented camps put you behind canvas, closer to the sounds of the bush, without giving up real beds, en-suite bathrooms or hot showers. Many guests mix both across one safari.

Can I choose my own properties?

Absolutely. Start from any property in this collection and we'll build the itinerary around it, or tell our specialists your style and budget and we'll shortlist stays that fit. Every itinerary is tailor-made, so swaps are always possible.

How far in advance should I book?

The best camps in the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and the Masai Mara sell out 6-12 months ahead for peak season (June-October and February). Green-season travel offers far more availability and better rates on the same properties.
