Serengeti National Park is Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park. A UNESCO world heritage site and recently proclaimed the 7th wonder of the world, Serengeti is famed for its annual migration where some six million hooves pound the open plains. Serengeti offers an exotic game-viewing experience in the whole of Africa giving you an up-close look of the animals you've only seen in National Geographic: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant’s gazelle.
Spend two full days in Serengeti National Park mostly exploring the wildlife
Serengeti National Park's resident wildlife numbers are exceptionally high in the Wagakuria area, with pride of lion up to 30 strong, however, from July to October the area turns into a wildlife paradise. The key feature is the Mara River and it is not uncommon to see the herds cross the Mara River north on one day and then back south a few days later. Please take note - to actually finding a crossing is very difficult and is sometimes a matter of luck
OPTIONAL HOT AIR BALLOON
After breakfast at your camp in the Central Serengeti, you set off with your driver-guide, game viewing as you go. The route leads across the plains towards the Seronera Airstrip, and the drive itself is part of the morning rather than simply a transfer, so keep your camera within reach as you scan the grassland and the scattered acacia woodland along the way.
At Seronera Airstrip you say goodbye to your guide and board your flight to Arusha or Zanzibar, depending on how your onward arrangements are set. This brings your safari in the Serengeti to a close. Breakfast is included today; lunch and dinner are not, so plan to eat at the airport or after you arrive at your destination.
