9 Days Wildlife Safari & Zanzibar Beach Holiday (Bush to Beach)

We leave Arusha for Tarangire National Park. This park covering approximately 2600 square kilometers is spectacular in the dry season when many of the migratory wildlife species come back to the permanent waters of Tarangire River. Huge herds of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, eland and oryx gather to stay in Tarangire until the onset of the rains when they migrate again to good grazing areas.

After breakfast, we proceed to the Central part of Serengeti. This park is well-known for its healthy stock of resident wildlife, particularly the "big five", named for the five most prized trophies taken by hunters: Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffaloes, and Rhinos.

After breakfast, we will leave for Central Serengeti National Park with picnic lunch and game drive along the way. Serengeti, among other incredible wildlife and stunning views is famed for the annual migration of over 1.5 million wildebeest and hundred thousands of zebras, a frenzied bout of territorial conquests and mating happening from July-October. Witness an actual survival of the fittest as these animals plunge through crocodile-infested waters. The wildebeest produces more than 8,000 calves daily before the 1,000 km (600 mile) pilgrimage begins again.

After breakfast, we will drive to Ngorongoro for the crater tour with picnic descent to the crater floor for the day tour. Some 20,000 mammals live in the area including about 20 black rhinoceros, making the crater the best place in Tanzania to see these amazing creatures. The crater floor also has one of the highest carnivore densities in the world. Lions, cheetahs, hyenas and jackals are commonly seen, while leopards, servals and bat-eared foxes may be seen with some luck.

After breakfast, you leave the Ngorongoro highlands and drive back to Arusha, where you stop at your hotel for lunch. It is a relaxed pause in the day, with time to sit down to a proper meal before the next stage of your trip.

In the afternoon you transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight to Zanzibar. The change is a striking one: from the cool crater rim and the plains you have been exploring, you step off the plane into the warmth and coastal air of the island. On arrival you are taken to Tembo Hotel, your base for the night, where dinner is served. Tomorrow the island itself takes over, beginning with Stone Town and its historic streets.

After breakfast, you will go on a guided tour of stone town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Experience tracing the footsteps of Arab Sultans on Zanzibar and ponder on the interesting historical sites and labyrinths. See actual Zanzibar doors famous for its unique architectural tradition.

After lunch, we will proceed to a tour of the countryside to the spice plantations. This place has a rich history and you will be welcomed by the rich aroma of spices such as nutmeg and cinnamon. Afterwards, we take you to Nungwi for your 2 nights accommodation at Z Hotel.

On your last day, enjoy the rest of your stay by relaxing in the pool or in the beach while taking in as much sunshine as you can. In the afternoon, we will take you to the airport for your onward destination.
