The day, step by step
Times are a guide. Your guide adjusts the day to the roads, the weather and how you want to spend it.
- 6:00 AM: pickup in Arusha
- The drive to Londorossi Gate on the western side of Kilimanjaro takes around two and a half to three hours, through farmland and forest.
- Late morning: up to the plateau
- After the park formalities you drive on up the mountain to the Shira Plateau.
- Midday: hike on the plateau
- A few hours walking on the moorland with your guide, at a gentle pace, with a packed lunch along the way.
- Afternoon: back down
- The drive down the mountain and back to Arusha, arriving in the evening.
