The day, step by step
Times are a guide. Your guide adjusts the day to the roads, the weather and how you want to spend it.
- 6:30 AM: pickup in Arusha
- An early start gets you to the park gate around the time the animals are most active.
- Morning: game drive
- Along the Tarangire River and through the baobab country, where elephants, giraffe and zebra gather.
- Midday: picnic lunch
- At a picnic site in the park, often looking over the river.
- Afternoon: more game driving
- Your guide heads wherever the sightings are best that day, perhaps the swamps or the quieter valleys.
- About 4 PM: leave the park
- The drive back has you at your Arusha hotel by about 6 to 7 PM.
