Monduli Juu is a cluster of Maasai villages in the green highlands northwest of Arusha, spread along the rim of an ancient volcanic ridge. This is walking-safari country: trails climb through cedar forest and open pasture to viewpoints over the Rift Valley, with Kilimanjaro and Mt Meru on the horizon on clear mornings. Community-run visits include boma stays, traditional medicine walks with Maasai elders and lively weekly livestock markets, an authentic cultural counterpoint to the game-drive circuit.
