Tengeru is a lively town on the slopes between Arusha and Kilimanjaro Airport, best known for its huge twice-weekly market and the forest-ringed crater lake of Duluti next door. Cultural tours visit family coffee farms to follow the bean from cherry to cup, share a home-cooked lunch, and paddle or walk the Lake Duluti shoreline, where monitor lizards and over 130 bird species thrive. It is an easy, rewarding half-day before or after a northern-circuit safari.
